Remove GPS Location & Coordinates from Photos

Many photos carry the exact latitude and longitude where they were taken. Remove the GPS block so a shared image can never reveal where you live, work or travel.

How It Works

  1. 1

Drop a photo into the workspace; its GPS tags are decoded from the EXIF block.

  2. 2

The inspector shows the raw GPSLatitude, GPSLongitude and GPSAltitude values so you can confirm what is embedded.

  3. 3

GPS is pre-selected and every other category is left off, so only location data is removed.

  4. 4

Clean and download a copy with no coordinates left in the file.

Frequently Asked Questions

How precise is the GPS data in a photo?

Consumer phones typically record coordinates accurate to a few metres, which is often enough to identify a specific building or home.

Will removing GPS affect the other EXIF tags?

No. This route selects only GPS, so camera settings and timestamps are preserved unless you check those categories too.

Do social networks strip GPS automatically?

Some do, but not reliably and not everywhere. Removing the coordinates yourself guarantees the location is gone before the file leaves your device.
